Description

Gun metal gives the Atticus set a soft sheen that black powder coat lacks, and its lines are modern and spare. A poker, tongs, a shovel and a tampico brush hang from a steel stand with a heavy base.

That base is just 6.97 inches square, and the stand rises to 30.08 inches. You can fit it on a narrow hearth or in the corner beside a stove. Our Atticus fireplace screen was designed alongside it, if you want the front of your fireplace to match.

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Burn Wise: Best Wood-Burning Practices. Burn only dry, split wood seasoned for at least six months and stored outdoors off the ground with only the top covered, and test it with a moisture meter, since wood burns best below 20 percent moisture. Never start a fire with gasoline, kerosene or charcoal starter, and never burn trash, cardboard, plastics, or coated, painted or pressure-treated wood, plywood or particle board.
