Description

Charlotte wears a 34-inch top of hand-laid natural slate around its fire bowl, with industrial rivets on the steel body. Drop the steel table lid on and it becomes a coffee table. Underneath you get a wood grate for airflow, a mesh spark cover, a chrome-plated cooking grid and a poker.

It weighs 55 pounds, so choose its spot once, on level concrete, brick or patio blocks, 10 feet from anything that can burn and clear of eaves and branches. Ask your town about backyard fire rules before your first fire, and burn only dry, seasoned wood.

Keep children and pets at least three feet away, use a fire pit screen, burn only clean, dry, seasoned hardwood in a wood-burning pit, and never use gasoline or other flammable liquids on the fire.
