Description

Linear Aluminum is the only door in the Pleasant Hearth range built on an extruded aluminum frame rather than steel. An inset line runs around the black frame, the bi-fold doors carry smoked glass, and large damper slots let air through to the fire.

Several frame sizes are made, so take your opening's width and height and match them to a size with our door sizing guide. Fitting it takes a flat head and a Phillips screwdriver. Rigid mesh panels sit behind the glass for the times a fire is burning, and the doors are meant for masonry wood-burning fireplaces only.

Chimney Safety Institute of America: Preventing Chimney Fires. Creosote, the residue wood smoke leaves inside a cooler chimney, is highly combustible, and it builds up faster with a restricted air supply, unseasoned wood, a cool chimney and an overloaded wood stove firebox. CSIA names closing the glass doors, a damper not opened wide enough and too little make-up air as ways the air supply gets restricted. CSIA recommends an annual inspection of the chimney and venting by a CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep, with cleaning and repair whenever needed. Read September 26, 2026.
U.S. Fire Administration (FEMA): Fireplace and Wood Stove Safety. Keep a glass or metal screen in front of the fireplace to stop embers and sparks, keep anything that can burn at least three feet from a fireplace or wood stove, and put the fire out before going to sleep or leaving home. Keep wood stove doors closed unless loading or stoking, use a stove tested by a qualified testing laboratory, and keep fireplace switches and remote controls out of children's reach. Have the chimney inspected and cleaned every year by a professional, and put ashes in a lidded metal container placed outside at least 10 feet from the home. Read September 26, 2026.
